Medicare, We’ll All Need it Someday

The article is primarily for anyone in the East Troy area with questions about Medicare.

In July Adam Collins from Collins Insurance Group reached out to us about holding drop-in sessions at the library. These sessions are free, no pressure opportunities for people with Medicare questions to stop in and ask them, no appointment or registration necessary. Adam will simply bring his laptop and work at the library waiting for anyone to stop by.

Collins Insurance Group is an independent, family run insurance agency with offices in Wisconsin and Illinois. Adam, a third-generation insurance agent, runs the office in Hales Corners. Appointments may be in person or by phone. They are also willing to do at home appointments when needed. They are scheduled to take an hour whether it’s an initial meeting or an annual review. The library sessions are less formal, less structured. They are for simple, the broad, and if it were me the clueless. Adam chose ETLPL for these Q&A sessions as he and his family live in East Troy and will set up meetings here as well as in his Hales Corners office.

The sessions will take place on three different Wednesdays and two different times of day. The first two are in October, on the 8th at 10:00am to 12:00pm and the 15th at 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The third session will take place on November 12th at 10:00am to 12:00pm. Put the dates on you calendar or checkout our website later if you forget the specifics.

One of the nice features of our calendar for those of us the utilize the calendar feature on a SMART phone is the +Add to Calendar feature. Once added using that button, all the information about location, time, and description is included. On my laptop it doesn’t work as seamlessly. It wants me to go through Microsoft Outlook, which I don’t use. On my phone it works beautifully and I can then view it on my calendar using my laptop.

Now that I’ve learned that for the purposes of this article, I’ll have to go through the library’s entire calendar and add all the programs to my calendar. That way I may stop double booking myself. I have the habit of thinking Wednesday is a great day to schedule meetings that might need the program space as Lego Club is the only regularly scheduled program on that day. Adam’s sessions are only one example of how that has changed.

Take a look at the Community Calendar on our website and you won’t miss out either on our new programs or those of other local organizations.

Reading Now: The Shack by William Paul Young

Listening to Now; Black Notice by Joy Ellis (New release in the Jackman & Evans series – very exciting.)
