October Preschool Storytime:  Halloween Tales 

Our Preschool Storytimes are scheduled for Fridays at 11:00 a.m.  Preschool storytime is geared towards children ages 18 months to 4 years of age, although younger and older siblings and friends are always welcome to participate.  It is a great way to introduce young children to an age-appropriate "school" environment, and all the skills that help young children function in such an environment, such as sharing materials with others.  It is also a great way to encourage pre-literacy skills such as "print motivation" (thinking that books and reading are fun) and "print awareness" (recognizing print and understanding how books work).  Preschool storytimes are "drop-in," no registration needed events, so just come on by. Here is October's line-up:

Make: a scary spider

October 12
Read:  Bad Kitty Scaredy-Cat by Nick Bruel
Make:  a black cat

October 19
Read: The Scariest Book Ever by Bob Shea

Make: a pumpkin mask

October 26
Read: Llama Llama Trick or Treat by Ann Dewdney
Wear: Your Halloween costume and join us for a "Spooktacular" Halloween Party!
